I'm not talking about a J2ME application this time but I think this program can be very useful anyway. How many times have you searched the way to get easily a screenshot of an application running on your phone with a resolution such as you could publish it on your webiste? The use of another phone's camera is not the right way to solve the question.

The solution is this Symbian application (available for Series60 and UIQ) that you can run in background during the normal use of your phone and that through a combination of keys can capture what is displayed on the phone's screen at that moment. The images are stored as normal picture in the "Gallery" section of your device and than you can choose to use it in the way you need (sending it via Bluetooth to the PC or attached to an email for example).

The application is free, the source code is available and supports 31 languages at the moment.

OBEX FTP is a great example of the use of JSR82 on J2ME application. This is the description of the features taken directly from the application's website:

"
Use your cell phone to browse, explore and manage files of any Bluetooth ready device (File Transfer Profile (FTP) OBEX)! Download, upload, explore, search, edit, create, delete and rename files and folders on your phone, PDA, palm, notebook, PC, photo viewer, music player and so on; using an easy, fast and intuitive user-interface (GUI). Transfer or delete many files and entire folders at once, with a single keypress, using the multiple selection feature. Search files across filesystems, using rapid and customisable parameters. Explore hidden files, or make your personal data private and/or read-only, using the attributes editor (local filesystem only). Cut, copy and paste files and folder across filesystems. Save your favorite devices in the bookmark list, to speed-up the connection procedure."

The supported platform is CLDC1.1/MIDP2.0 and you can find a VeriSign and Twathe signed version.

The GUI appears really nice and usable. You can see a screenshot below:

The project is from Italy. See more at Medieval website
